Sure-Fire Solution For
Successful Weight Loss

What would you like to achieve?

Successful weight loss begins with your goal. Once you know your goal, write it down. And then put it where you can see it.

Yes, I know what you are thinking. You already know the goal--successful weight loss. So you don't need to write it down.

But writing it down crystallizes the goal. It makes it more real.

It means you have made a commitment to successful weight

loss. It is no longer a vague "I need to lose weight" or "I need to go on a diet."

Make it clear

So you say, "I would like to lose 50 pounds (or 20 kg) by August 1st of next year."

Another goal could be, "I would like to be down two dress sizes 6 weeks from today."

See, these are exact goals. They include two things:

  • what you want to accomplish
  • when you would like to do that.

Now, look at the two lines above. Do they seem OK to you? Do they make your goal clear?

These are not bad, actually. They are better than nothing at all.

But they do have the seeds of doubt and failure in them.

What you want to accomplish. That is sort of like--"I want to. I don't know if I can but I want to." See, that's kind of weak. It opens the door to failure.

When you would like to do that. That is sort of--"It would be nice if I could do it by then. Maybe I could." Maybe you could--but maybe not.

Remove all doubt

So how do you make it better? You decide this:

  • what you will accomplish
  • when you will do that.

Now you are on to something. You get goals that are real goals, that lead to successful weight loss. You get goals that say you have decided to do something, and you are going to do it.

See--these are real goals:

  • I am going to lose 30 pounds by my birthday.
  • I am going to fit in a size 10 dress by my wedding anniversary.
  • I am going to have a 36 inch waist on the first day of spring.

There's nothing wishy-washy about that. It is easier to reach a solid goal. You need to give yourself all the help you can. A strong goal will help you.

Keep it in sight

Now, put your goal where you will see it. Put it on your bathroom mirror so you see it the first thing every morning. Keep a copy on your refrigerator. Another copy goes on your desk at work, or in your purse or wallet, where you can refer to it regularly.

Keep a copy by your scale where you can see it when you weigh yourself every morning. Because each time you weigh yourself you remind yourself of your goal.

So keep your goal in front of you. Stay focused on it.

That way you won't stray. You have your eye on the prize. And you will soon have the body you want.
