The Secret To Setting A Weight Loss Goal
Don't lose another minute--you need to have a clear cut weight loss goal now!Starting a weight loss program without a goal is like starting a vacation without knowing where you are going. Now, if you are the adventurous type it might be OK to start a trip without knowing where you are going. It can be fun to see somewhere new and unexpected. On the other hand, if you have Paris in mind and end up in Sioux Falls you might be disappointed.
Well, losing weight is the same. If you don't have a clear-cut goal you will end up disappointed. The clearer you can make your goal the better off you will be.
Can you keep the weight off?Did you know that if you have a weight loss goal and reach it you are much more likely to keep the weight off? If you lose weight but don't quite get to your goal weight you are much more likely to gain the weight back. But if you hit your goal weight you have a better chance of keeping if off. And that's the point isn't it? Don't just take it off. KEEP it off!
You need something to aim atIf you were shooting a bow and arrow you could just go out and shoot some arrows, and it might be kind of fun. But it is even more fun when you put up a target to shoot at. The target gives you something to aim for. It tells you if you are on the right track. And when you hit the bulls-eye you know that you did well. Setting a target for weight loss works the same way. If you don't have a target you are kind of wandering around in the woods.
You can't "diet" forever!Let's say to don't have a target. Instead you say, "I am going on a diet." Fine, you diet. But when do you stop? Or you might say, "I want to be skinny." But even then, how skinny? Is there an end in sight somewhere? So here is a little quiz: Which would you rather be? - weak, hungry, and unhealthy
- or strong, sleek, muscular, and sexy.
That's right! You chose sleek and sexy. And that is what making a goal is all about. You want a body where you have to eat just to keep up with the calories you are burning off. And that won't just happen by accident. It takes planning!
Here is how you can set your weight loss goal:- you need a goal for body weight
- you need a goal for body fat
- and you need a goal for time.
You have to know those three things before you start: how much weight do you need to lose, how much fat do you need to lose, and how long should it take. And if you do that you can finally lose the weight and keep it off!
