Weight Watchers Was Too Restricting

by Margery Greenland

Well, Weight Watchers did work for me, but only for a little while. I lost about 15 pounds while I strictly followed the online program.

But for me, counting points was too restricting. At that time, my schedule was very odd since I worked nights and went to school during the day. I did not have time to cook elaborate meals that were low in points, but would still taste good.

So, on days when I was really busy, I would revert back to eating anything because I was starving. Between other commitments and guilt over completely flubbing my diet, I would avoid using the website!

Once I quit Weight Watchers, I started using the USDA "My Pyramid" site. I gave me helpful tools, similar to WW, but seemed more flexible than constantly worrying about points.

From the Weight Watchers experience, I have gained some valuable knowledge.

Diets don't work for me, but consciously choosing to eat healthier has. If I screw up, I don't feel guilty about it and that helps me make better food choices the next day.
