PCOS(poly cystic ovarian syndrome)

(bangladesh)

DOES poly cystic ovarian syndrome cause weight gain?

Because it is a estrogenic condition I think it may influence fat production.

I am a medical student. All the time I am under stress.

Does a stressful condition also influence to weight gain?

Does exercise contribute in this cases?? I think exercise will not help.

Polycystic ovary syndrome
by: Dr. Dan

Rasel,

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a problem with hormones. When a woman has polycystic ovary syndrome she develops many growths (poly means many) on the ovaries.

She also usually has trouble with insulin resistance and obesity.

It might make it harder for her to lose weight, but it's not impossible. Some people have a harder time losing weight than others.

So what should someone do that has a harder time losing weight? Well, one thing you could do is give up and live your life overweight and miserable.

Or you could decide to do whatever it takes, and then do it.

PCOS too

I have PCOS too and it certainly does seem to make weight loss more difficult. What I will tell you is that my symptoms were significantly better after I lost some weight (15lbs) with dietary changes and (importantly) exercise. Good luck to you.
