Losing weight after pregnancy

Hello, what is a good way to lose weight after pregnancy?

My wife Laura is sad because she lost too few weight after she gave birth to our little girl.

She is breastfeeding so she must eat so she can have enough milk for the baby but she would like to have the weight she used to have right before she became pregnant.

Lossing Weight after a baby
by: tigerlilym56

I gained over 50 pounds when I was pregnant with my son. I did breastfeed for a little over 3 months, that did help with most of the weight.

My son is now seven months old and I have found that eating smaller meals several times a day helps with keeping my body on track and if I walk at least 15 minutes a day around my office building for exercise I am slowly shedding the pounds.

It takes at least a year for your body to get even close to what it was pre-baby, unless you are a movie star or have a personal trainer.

EXERCISE

I gained almost 40 pounds with my pregnancy and I breastfed for 10 months. Although I felt breastfeeding helped keep my weight in check, it was hard because I had to keep eating to keep my milk healthy.

I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight within the year and I would say it was mainly due to exercise. The exercise I did wasn't necessarily rigorous, I just tried to walk as much as possible.

I spent a lot of time pushing my son in the stroller and opting to walk to the store, or bank, or park or whatever errands I had, rather than driving.

It is also easier if you have a friend to walk with - it makes the time go by faster especially if you are with another new mother - there is so much to talk about with new babies!
