Jenny Craig gets boring fast
by Cheryl M.
(Concord, NC, USA)
I have tried the Jenny Craig diet several different times over the past 15 years. I purchased the 'life time' membership way back when I first started, so it makes it more tempting to return and try again, at less expense than without that membership.
I always have a good experience for the first two or three weeks and lose 7-ish pounds the first week and then 2 or 3 each week following -- as long as I follow the diet exactly.
I won't bother to detail how difficult _that_ can be ~ that's true of every diet. However, with Jenny Craig, I've found that there are only 4 or 5 of each meal type that I enjoy -- 4 or 5 breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Following their recommended weekly menus becomes impossible for me, because I just don't like the taste of so many things. I end up piecing together a menu that repeats the same entrees several times a week -- and that gets very boring very quickly.
Not to mention the expense of Jenny Craig. If I just went to the grocery store and bought portion controlled frozen meals to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, then threw in a yogurt and salad each day, I would have essentially the same diet experience at a much less expensive price.

Thank you for your story. It's common for people to return to diets over and over. And yet if these diets led to permanent weight loss you wouldn't need to do them again. You would get to a healthy weight and stay there.
